Photographer Profile ~ Seeberger Brothers.

Modern fashion photography was born when three brothers, Parisian postcard photographers, shifted their lenses to the upper echelon of French society in the early twentieth century. As impromptu portraits of beautiful women in the latest fashions at horse races, resorts, and cafes began to appear in magazines, designers such as Chanel, Hermes, and Madeleine Vionnet rushed to send their models to be photographed by the brothers. A bygone era of glamour; the images below illuminate the candid beginnings of what is now called street fashion photography. Bill Cunningham became the go-to photographer from the 60's on and now the new king of Street Fashion is arguabley The Sartorialist , Scott Schuman

The Seeberger brothers have earned their places in history not just for their considerable photographic talents but for their roles in chronicling the evolution of styles, attitudes and cultural influences throughout their time. Their impact on fashion was considerable and the archives of their work continue to influence fashion today.

"...The internet has given us what I like to call a digital park bench. So many people you meet say "Oh, I love to just go people watch"... Before you were really limited to the people you could see right there in front of you at your park. Now you can go on the Internet and look at a blog like mine or other blogs that are based somewhere else... Really the whole world is open to you now" ~ Schuman
