From sheet metal worker to policeman to leading international fashion photographer.
Raised in the suburbs of Perth Australia, Russell James left school at the age of fourteen. After a sheet metal apprenticeship making rubbish bins, he switched careers and joined the elite SAS-trained WA Police Tactical Response Group, providing protection for dignitaries including Pope John Paul II, Princess Anne, Prime Minister Bob Hawke, President George Bush Sr and many more. Today he works for international magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire and Sports Illustrated and he is perhaps best known as the lead photographer for Victoria's Secret.
